people L.A. Metro extends CEO Leahy's contract Boyle Feldmann Thompson Banta ̈ David W. Tripp, executive director of the St. Cloud, Minn.-based Metro Bus, retired. ̈ Greg Winterbottom, to chairman for the Orange County Transportation Authority. ̈ Ron Garrison, to director, customer service, at Proterra. Art Leahy, CEO of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), received a two-year contract extension with options for two additional one-year extensions. Te two-year contract extension is added to a previous four-year contract entered into in April 2009 between Metro and Leahy. At Metro, Leahy is charged with leading transportation planning and programming for the county and funding construction of numerous street, highway and transit improvements running the gamut from bike and pedestrian improvements to new Leahy busways and rail lines to freeway carpool lanes and sound walls. Following approval of the contract extension, Leahy thanked Metro directors saying their actions refect confdence in the agency's direction and said he looked forward to working with them in carrying out the Measure R programs. ̈ At Cubic Corp.: William W. Banta, to secretary/treasurer of the South West Transit Association. ̈ Sarah Pang, to board member at Chicago's Regional Transportation Authority. ̈ Philip Petrocelli, to president, west division, at HNTB. ̈ Peter J.
