INIT COMPLETES BC PROJECT
BC Transit partnered with INIT for an
advanced automatic vehicle location and
real-time passenger information system
for the Kelowna RapidBus line. The
strategy comprised the implementation
of INIT's onboard computers, interactive
driver terminals, emergency alarms,
digital signage and audio announcements
on the buses.
ARBOC INSTALLS SINGLEPOINT WI-FI
SOLUTIONS ON NEW VEHICLES
SinglePoint Communications and ARBOC
Specialty Vehicles manufactured buses
with Wi-Fi In Motion Moovbox solutions
for one of ARBOC's clients. The Spirit of
Freedom buses with the new technology
creates a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot allowing
travelers to access the internet on laptops,
tablets and other devices.
Chicago puts 2 New Flyer electric buses in service
Two New Flyer Xcelsior® XE40 battery-electric heavy-duty transit buses entered
regular transit service with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The buses,
equipped with 300 kWh of energy storage providing a range of up to 120 miles on
a single charge, were delivered earlier this year as part of a contract awarded to
New Flyer in June 2012. The vehicles are equipped with a Siemens electric drive
system, as well as electric subsystems and accessories currently used on New
Flyer's Xcelsior XDE40 diesel-electric hybrid bus.
