business briefs NABI to showcase LFW at service center event North American Bus Industries Inc. (NABI) West Coast Service Center will host its Third Annual Transit Appreciation Day and Reception on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PST. The event will be highlighted with the showing of NABI's latest- generation LFW product and an update on its Anniston, Ala.-based manufacturing facility that was recently expanded to build the LFW and BRT low-fl oor products. NABI execs and Aftermarket Parts, Sales and Field Service personnel and strategic NABI suppliers will be in attendance. HONOLULU UNVEILS GILLIG BUSES The City and County of Honolulu un- veiled the fi rst of its 48 Gillig buses fea- turing the most current EPA-certifi ed clean diesel ISL Cummins engine, a fuel effi cient Voith 5-speed transmission and an "all-electric" ThermoKing air condi- tioning system. The City and County is acquiring 40 40-foot buses and eight 35-foot buses. All 48 buses are equipped with an ADA access ramp, front kneeling capability and bike racks. BOMBARDIER WINS 10-YEAR N.J. AIRPORT CONTRACT EXTENSION Bombardier Transportation signed a contract with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to provide operations and maintenance services for a further 10 years and a capital asset upgrade program to ensure the system continues to perform optimally.
