WABTEC UNIT TO REPOWER METROLINX LOCOMOTIVES Wabtec Corp.'s MotivePower subsidiary signed a $45 million contract with Metro- linx, an agency of the Province of Ontario and the regional transportation author- ity for the Greater Toronto and Hamil- ton Area, to repower 11 locomotives with new engines and propulsion systems that meet higher environmental standards. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2014. CLEVER DEVICES ACQUIRES DIGITAL RECORDERS Clever Devices closed a transaction to ac- quire substantially all of the assets of Digi- tal Recorders. LRVS By awarding Siemens Rail Systems a con- tract to modify and refurbish 21 light rail vehicles, the Sacramento Regional Transit District will add to its fl eet at a fraction of the cost of new vehicles. The refurbish- ment will add approximately 15 years of useful life to the vehicles, while new ve- hicles are typically built to last 30 years. Siemens will also modernize the vehicle's communications, event recorders and aux- iliary power systems. LB FOSTER PROVIDES RAIL TIES L.B. Foster Co. was awarded a contract to provide 89,175 of its CXT Concrete Ties for the Calif.-based Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit project. The CXT Fastclip ties CH BUS DELIVERS TEMSA TO IND. Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Excursions Trail- ways Inc. recently purchased a new Tem- sa TS35 coach from CH Bus Sales Inc. The TS35 coaches are equipped with a Cum- mins engine, Allison B500 transmission and three-point seat belts. Other features include REI audio/video, Alcoa rims and a Webasto heater.
