business briefs Railway and Mass Transit Interiors Tech/Design Expo Railway & Mass Transit Interiors Technology/Design Expo, the world's only exhi- bition dedicated to railcar and road bus/coach interior design and equipment, will be taking place October 24-26, 2012 at the Seaport World Trade Center, Boston. The exhibition fl oor will feature around 100 participating companies showcasing a wide range of interiors innovations. NEW FLYER AWARDED DAIMLER N.Y. BUS ORDER Daimler Buses North America Inc. (DBNA) assigned New Flyer its contract with New York City Transit Authority and the New York Metropolitan Trans- portation Authority Bus Co. to build 74 heavy-duty 40-foot CNG buses, with an additonal 30 bus option. The assignment is a result of Daimler's decision to exit pro- duction of heavy-duty transit buses for the U.S. and Canadian markets. ABC ACQUIRES TMC GROUP ABC Companies announced its investment in the small and mid-size bus manufacturing market through its acquisition of the assets of TMC Group Inc. located in Elkhart, Ind. The new operating company will be known as Ameritrans Bus Inc. ABC anticipates investing additional capital in the business to increase production and capacity. The small and mid-size bus products will continue to be distributed through the loyal dealer network already established by TMC Group Inc. MCI DELIVERS TO GO TRANSIT Motor Coach Industries (MCI) delivered 18 Commuter Coach models to GO Transit,which completes a 36-coach order for 2012.
