business briefs MCI delivers 54 vehicles to Denver RTD The Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) took delivery of 54 Motor Coach Industries' (MCI) Commuter Coaches. The vehicles are equipped with a wheelchair lift and an ACTIA multiplex system with an ergonomic driver dash and the latest clean-diesel engine technology for near-zero emissions. Altogether, Denver RTD has more than 1,000 buses in its fleet, with the newest coaches replacing an equivalent number of 1998 MCI D-models. The Commuter Coach ofers 42% greater seating capacity at a cost that's 15% lower per seat than a comparable transit bus, according to company data. FLINT MTA ADDS ELDORADOS Flint, Mich.-based Mass Transportation Authority added six ElDorado National propane vehicles. The propane vehicles arrived six each week over 10 weeks, for a total of 60 new propane vehicles. Fifty-five of the propane vehicles will have 10 fixed seats, with two positions for wheelchairs. Five vehicles will feature six fixed seats with four wheelchair positions. PREVOST, NASCAR PARTNER Prevost and NASCAR announced a new multi-year partnership that designates the Sainte-Claire, Quebec-based company as the "Ofcial Luxury Motorcoach" of NASCAR. NASCAR will utilize Prevost's state-of-the-art luxury motorcoaches this year for at-track hospitality through the NASCAR Fuel for Hospitality program.
