Minn.-based Northfeld Lines recently took delivery of a new Van Hool CX78 luxury motorcoach from ABC Companies. The 56-passenger coach comes with Van Hool's standard safety features including Kidde fre suppression, Smartwave tire monitoring, automatic traction control, lane departure warning, back-up camera and is UN ECE-RU66 rollover-certifed. CLEAN ENERGY OPENS FLA. STATION Clean Energy Fuels Corp. announced the grand opening of Tampa, Fla.-based Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority's compressed natural gas (CNG) station. The project entailed the construction of a CNG fueling station, plus modifcation of existing maintenance facilities and fuel lanes. CH BUS DELIVERS TEMSA TO N.Y., OPENS NEW TEXAS FACILITY Hampton Jitney, located in Southampton, N.Y., took delivery of a Temsa TS 35 coach from CH Bus Sales. The operation's new vehicle is wheelchair-equipped with two tie- downs. CH Bus also announced the opening of a new 12,000-square-foot sales and service facility in Fort Worth, Texas. INIT PROVIDING ORE. E-FARE SYSTEM TriMet selected Innovations in Transportation Inc. (INIT) to begin designing the equipment needed for an electronic fare (e-fare) system serving the Portland metropolitan area in 2017. The $14.3 million base contract with INIT covers e-fare equipment and inspection devices, customer Web portals and 1.3 million smart cards. Q'STRAINT OPENS RESEARCH SITE Q'Straint opened a new research facility, the iQ Research Center of Excellence, at its Whitstable, East Kent, U.K. location. The facility features state-of-the-art technologies to help study the dynamics in a crash environment as they relate to wheelchair passengers. PREVOST EXPANDS B.C. FACILITY Prevost expanded their parts facility in Richmond, B.C., Canada and improved shipping efciency to operators in the region. The expansion will increase parts availability and shorten the lead time to get parts to their west coast customers. FIRST TRANSIT EXTENDED IN DENVER First Transit will continue to operate more than 115 buses and manage more than 350 dedicated transit employees for the fxed-route services for Denver Regional Transportation District Group 24. The contract has been retained for an additional three years, plus two option years. Gary Forbes will continue to serve as the GM for RTD, utilizing his 24 years of experience managing public transportation systems.
