Union Station is currently undergoing $484 million in upgrades and will eventually connect to Denver's newest commuter rail and light rail corridors, as well as Amtrak intercity service and local, express and regional bus lines. "This new bus concourse doubles the size of the previous facility and will help make Union Station a true transportation hub in Denver," said William Howe, PE, STV's resident PMO consultant. Under its PMO contract, the project team for the past four years has prepared monthly and quarterly reports on environmental mitigation, right-of-way acquisition and design progress, and is responsible for evaluating whether the requisition for disbursement of federal funds was consistent with the actual work performed. The frm has provided similar PMO services for other transportation initiatives in Denver, including the West Corridor, and is currently performing them in support of the $2.9 billion East and Gold Line Enterprise commuter rail projects. STV has been providing PMO services on behalf of the FTA in cities across the U.S. since 1986. As part of an ongoing transformation of Denver's Union Station, a brand new 22- gate underground bus concourse has opened in the heart of the city's downtown. On behalf of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), STV provided project management oversight (PMO) consultant services to support this major transportation initiative.
