The contract is valued at approximately $296 million and covers a period of 15 years. 2 COLLEGES TAP FIRST TRANSIT First Transit was contracted by the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to provide campus shuttle services for the school's transportation system, RISD Rides. The company was also awarded the ongoing management, operations and maintenance of campus transportation services for Ga.'s Savannah College of Art and Design. PREVOST UNVEILS FIRST X3-45 BUILT IN N.Y. PLANT Prevost's frst X3-45 Commuter coach from their new Plattsburgh, N.Y. plant made a "Grand Opening" appearance at the 2014 APTA EXPO in Houston. The Plattsburgh line is now operational and has begun to fll existing orders. TRIMET UNVEILS NEW SIEMENS 'TYPE 5' LIGHT RAIL VEHICLE Portland, Ore.'s TriMet previewed the frst "Type 5" MAX light rail vehicle from Siemens at its light rail facility in Gresham, The S70 light rail vehicle was designed and manufactured at Siemens' Sacramento, Calif. plant and includes new features that increase the comfort and safety for the public and make the operation of the vehicles easier and more efcient. MCI DELIVERS NEW J4500 TO NEB. Omaha, Neb.-based Arrow Stage Lines took delivery of two new MCI J4500s, including the 7,000th model to roll of the E/J line at MCI's Winnipeg facility. With this delivery, Arrow became the frst to own MCI J4500s with the new ZF axle system with independent front- and tag- axle suspension and a Bendix braking system that complements the model's recently added MCI Dynamic Suspension System. SAFE FLEET ACQUIRES SEON Safe Fleet, provider of safety solutions for feet vehicles, announced the acquisition of Seon. Seon's headquarters and main operations will continue in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, and Terry Akiyama will continue in his role as president of Seon.
